W15-Apr 26 Future Tense I see the future being so extremely digital that people won't be able to buy paper at the store anymore. There will be no store. I am scared because I think that everything will just be able to be done at home. So the only purpose for buildings then will be residential. I am a really big star trek fan so I see space travel and all that jazz happening within the next 200-300 years.

W13-Apr 12 This week, I watched Existenz (1999) It was interesting because in a way it reminded me of spy kids 3 Funny enough, it was from the same studio, Dimension Films. It had that aspect of this alternate reality game where people entered a video game world. This film was pre digital and I didn't realize this until after but the effects that were in the film were done very nicely. I liked that this felt more like literary work rather than a genre. It felt real in itself rather than sci fi fiction, which it really could have been.
W10-Mar 22 Fiction of Ideas I read Fahrenheit 451 I find it very interesting when they say that reading makes people antisocial and happy and so it is  banned, yet technology is not banned and if one of those two makes people antisocial it would be technology. It is a very good way of putting a twist on a parallel world. While reading this book it felt like this was a dystopian world. It's like this book was written by tech lovers who don't like to read. I can relate to this.
W8-Mar 1 Urben Fant I thought this movie was interesting, the setup of the movie is nothing what I expected. But this film reminded me about “The Shape of Water… I wonder if they took inspiration from “The Lady in the Water”. Myth was reinvented in the story well because we knew nothing about the story besides the intro they gave us. Through the movie they didn't tell us the tale of the I thought “The Lady in the Water was a decent film. I felt like the story was making up its own rules as it goes along. It was hard for me to follow. Like it seemed that Cleveland didn't solve any problems on his own. He was always going to the asian’s mom and she would basically tell him exactly what would happen. Myth was reinvented within the context of the story a lot. For example, They reinvented the myth of the mermaid and the ruled of mermaids in mythical fiction.
W7-Feb 22 Spiritual education Time Bandits was a film with lots of symbolism. I think the biggest one was the illusion between God and the devil a lot. Where they don't really think they call each other that, but they tend to allude to them alot. I think it is a great concept to have this time traveling story where the main Character, Kevin embarks on with the dwarfs.
IN CLASS READING: BLOOD CHILD I was kind of confused reading this. What really stuck with me is that these people could eat an egg and it would prolong their life. What there me off during the reading was the new terminology that was used like Tlic, or T'Gatoi, or Terrann or N'Tlic. Every time I would stop because I don't know if this is slang the writer came up with or if these are terms or names. I didn't make a real significant connection with the story because I am a slow reader and didn't get through all of it. But the one silly connection I made was when the protagonist didn't want to slaughter an animal but he was told to do so. I know, I know, thats weird connection to make. But I've never and never will kill an animal. I don't think I would change anything to adopt this story into another medium. However, I would adapt the idea of changing the gender of the person giving birth to  an intricate sigh show, like Star Trek for example.
I watched Serenity (2005) I haven't seen the TV series Firefly that preceded this. This movie was a nice change of the traditional space scifi type film. It had a very deep story and it definitely seems more realistic. However it didn't lack that fiction magic aspect. However throughout the movie I felt as if I was missing information I might have needed to watch the TV show to get. I say, that in a way it is kind of like “Alien” meets “Star Wars” or “The Walking Dead” meets “Star Trek”.
